On August 17, 2009, the Washington DC Chapter of Concerns of Police Survivors (DC-COPS)
held its annual golf tournament. GLLU staffer Sterling Spangler finished up his term as president
of DC-COPS in June 2009. Before the golf tournament, Spangler received a special plaque
from Chief Cathy Lanier on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Department in
recognition of his community work.
